Elephant Eggs

I don't know where I discovered this idea online, but I remember seeing how to make an Elephant Milk Carton Hat on somebody's crafty blog. Whoever it was, I'd like to go ahead and thank them right now cause this is Petey's new favorite thing.
Petey has been running around with this new 'elefint' hat on for a couple of weeks now - complete with random elephant trumpets. It's too funny. To make this spiffy hat I basically took an old milk jug and cut off the top (leaving the handle attached) and then cut 'ears' out of the sides, turned it upside down and drew eyes on as well. Instant fun.

Egg update:
A couple of weeks ago I mentioned one of our hens had started laying eggs about every other day - well, since then things have really taken off. She started laying about every day and then our other hen began laying these smallish brown ones as well!
We really appreciate our chickens going to the trouble of color-coordinating their eggs so we can easily tell which ones are the productive hens.
This picture shows the eggs we've collected over the past 4 days. Crazy. We're now getting about 1-2 FRESH eggs a day - that is unless Petey drops one on the way into the house cause he's so excited.

My sister Katie posted about that elephant hat thing on her blog, but I'm not sure if that's where you saw it. Glad Peter's liking it. Can't wait to see you guys this week!

Petey looks good as a pachyderm. Maybe he could get a job at a zoo to earn money for college.

I want eggs too! Cool! I love the elephant hat. I'm going to have to copy you with our next gallon of milk.
