Getting Your Ears Lowered

After we'd been married for a few months, Travis finally convinced me to start cutting his hair at home. Note that I have never cut anyone's hair in my life.. The first time I did his it took about 2 hours and nearly ended our short marriage. After many 'original' haircuts, I've finally got the knack (I think) although it still puts a bit of a strain on our relationship due to the fact that I am always having to defend myself to him: "Oops", "No that is NOT a hole!" and "That was bleeding when I started!". We thought we'd document this exciting event for future generations.

Say Cheese!

Always the experimentalist, Travis' latest project has been to make his own cheese. After two failed attempts that resulted in two gallons of gross yogurt..SUCCESS! This 1/4 cup of pressed cheese curd is the result of two days work and a gallon of milk. Yummy! Now if only we could convince him not to attempt making chocolate cheese...

Travis' Note: I've been trying to convince Michelle that we need a milk cow but she says that the second bedroom is already full of crap and then there's the problem of getting it up the stairs. By the way, chocolate cheese is gonna blow your tastebuds!

Super Bowl XLI

So, here is quite a long entry, but I wanted to share all our experiences from Super Bowl XLI in Miami, FL.
Rob & Tracie brought the whole family out, Morris and Lees (minus kids) and got us hotels and tickets to the game. It was great because everyone could immediately tell who was a Lee and who was a Morris (the Lee's are all skinny and short, the Morris'.. well they look like their brother could play pro football, they're big). The game was so much fun, even with all the rain, and it couldn't have ended better with the Colts beating the Bears 29-17. All in all, a once in a lifetime experience! Go Colts!

Pre-Game Brunch

Before the game all the families went to a brunch for the Colts. They had us in a huge tent outside the hotel overlooking the ocean: all the while stuffing us full of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Such good food! This is Kristi, Jono, my mom, Tracie, the squirly Carter, my dad, Me and Travis outside.

Miami's Finest

To get to the game, all the families were put on these huge buses (about 50 of them) and were given a police escort all the way to the stadium. They stopped all traffic, even on the freeways and plowed us through all the red lights. It was really neat, we felt very celebrity-ish. It was really neat to sit on the buses and talk with some of the other players' families.

The Miami stadium all decked out in Super Bowl gear. Kristi, my dad, and Jono just about to go their seats. Don't they look excited?!

Pre-Game show

Travis, Me, Jono and Kristi in our seats prior to the game starting. Notice we are quite dry here. It only started to rain once the game started and stopped only a little while after it finished.
Okay, if you look real close you can see Rob. He is #94 (or the only white guy on defense).

Purple Rain

Prince's half-time show and stage. I must say he knows how to rock out and give a great show. I bet he was so happy that it was raining for his big finale of "Purple Rain".

Drowned rats

This is about half-way through the game and we are completely soaked. They said that this was the first Super Bowl in history that it rained for the ENTIRE game... boy, am I glad we got to be part of history. You can't see her, but a couple of rows in front of us was our own personal crazy/drunk lady. Her mascara had run down her face so she looked a little possessed and then she kept standing up and trying to get everyone to cheer for the randomest things... timeouts, 2nd downs and the like. I'm not sure why they kept bringing her beer, but they did.

Confetti Fallin'

Trav and I cheering at the end of the game when they started to shoot off all the confetti and people are trying to rush the field. We were absolutely soaked by this time, but hey, we were at the Super Bowl right?!

Super Bowl XLI

My dad, Jono, Kristi, Me, Travis, and my mom all excited at the end of the game. I was so happy everyone could be there to see it together.

Super Bowl XLI

The Lombardi trophy being presented to Manning and Dungy.

South Beach, Miami

Monday after the game we all went to South Beach, Miami to see all the cool Art Deco architecture and go to the beach. It was really windy and chilly, so we didn't get to go swimming, but it was still amazingly beautiful! This is Travis and I on one of the great beaches trying not to get blown away.
