Petey in the Park

Petey and I have been going to this park near our house a ton lately (thank you warm weather!) and he loves a couple of key features:

They have this little pond with a bridge that he loves to cross back and forth and back and forth...

And then there's this little tunnel that he crawls through. You can't really see it, but there are small holes on the side of the tube and so like any good mom, I try to scare him each time he goes through and he thinks it's hilarious. So do I.

And lastly, here's Amber, Katie and me at Katie's baby shower last weekend. We had a rockin' good time and ate all kinds of yummy food. These girls are the bestest EVAH and I don't know what I'll do without them this summer! Love you ladies!

Petey in action

At our ward Easter egg hunt, Petey got pretty excited every time he found an egg.

Peter, Aiden and Ethan. These three are so dang cute.

Petey's favorite part of every day is bathtime!!

He loves hats right now. I think he looks like a homeless man. A cute homeless man that is.

And just in case you're wondering what I've been up to of late, I've started a book blog. AKA the place where I pimp out books. Check it out: seemichelleread.blogspot.com. It's da bomb.

**sorry I don't know what the heck happened with the spacing on this one. My computer keeps telling me 'user error' but I can't figure out what that means for the life of me...

My son has The Knack

For some time now I've suspected Peter has a very serious condition. You see, I think he has The Knack. He's interested in anything shiny, mechanical or electrical. At first we thought he was just part raccoon but we're pretty sure it's much more serious than that now.

I've finally obtained proof in the following video. This is actually a fairly common occurrence at our house. He'll dump out these blocks and then will put each one back in a slot until they all fit. They've assured me he'll be able to live a normal life but after spending time with other engineers, I'm not so sure.

Ode to a Honda

When she was 16, my sister-in-law drove this car home off the lot. Meet Wil.Later Wil was passed to my parents. Then, Wil came to live with me. And then we added Travis. And Petey. Now this little red Honda has over 215,000 miles and lives with a new 16-year-old. Bye Wil.

Since Wil has been in the family so long (some families pass on china, we pass on old cars) we decided to not change everything all at once. So we bought another Honda. Another red Honda. Just a different one with less miles and 4 doors. A CR-V. Now we just need a new name... Any ideas?

Starting early

I thought this photo of Petey was too funny. Our little man has started 'reading' all kinds of things. He'll pick up DVD cases and newspapers and books and it totally looks like he's reading the words. He probably just sees me with a book in my hands all the time and wants to do the same.

Happy Anniversary!!

On Thursday, Trav and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary. Wow! Five years - where has the time gone!! We went to this amazing sushi house for dinner while our wonderful neighbors kept Petey for us. It was so nice to have a date night and be able to just spend time together.

And because they were just so dang good, here's some of the sushi we tried. I just love how each piece is so pretty (not to mention good tasting).

Behold the Playboy Roll.
Spicy crab and tuna rolls.
Yum yum.
