Headed to Idaho

This past week we drove up to Idaho for Travis' Grandfather's funeral. At 90 years old, it wasn't your normal somber affair but more like a family reunion which was actually turned out to be a lot of fun. It was so nice to see all of Travis' siblings and cousins.

Nora and the boys did pretty good on the long trip - we split it up into two days of travel both ways and although Nora really wasn't a fan of her car seat, she did okay overall. Mostly we enjoyed making the road trip in our new (roomier) van (which I love).

While in Idaho we stayed with Travis' brother Jon and his wife Shelia and had so much fun. The boys had a blast playing in their awesome back yard and riding around on their little four wheeler.

Just before we headed back home we decided to hike Jump Creek falls with Papa Golden to relive Travis' high school glory days. As our little rescuer, Peter had to get appropriately outfitted before the hike with a caution vest, boots, and a FULL backpack. That kid was prepared for anything.

The water was nice and cold but felt wonderful.

We sure had a wonderful time in Idaho even if it was an unexpected trip.

And here's one more of the cute baby. Just take a look at that sweet smile and those cute little rolls. She is just too sweet. At three months we could not love this baby more.

2 Months!

Our sweet little Nora girl turned 2 months old a few weeks ago. At her check up she was 10lbs! TEN pounds! We've never had a baby grow as fast as she does. She even has little fat rolls - Benji calls them her 'stripes.' But we aren't complaining because all that chunkiness has helped her become a champion sleeper so far -- normally going to bed around 9pm and not waking up until 4 or 5am...sometimes she even sleeps until 6 or 7am! At two months! Crazy.

Nora really is such a sweet girl. Very happy all the time and content to watch the craziness. This past weekend most of my family came out for her baby blessing and we had the best time together.

We spent some time at the hotel pool with cousins while Kristi enjoyed some baby snuggles.

I realized after the fact that I sadly didn't get any pictures of just Nora in her beautiful blessing dress -- but here is the nice group family shot after church.

 We had so much fun with family -- eating good food and just generally have a grand time while the cousins went crazy playing outside. The trampoline was especially a big hit. We also had a surplus of people who wanted to hold our sweet little girl. Here she is with my brother Jono.

I sure wish my family lived closer but we had a wonderful time hanging out. I'm so grateful they all were able to come be with us for this special weekend.
