Sunday best

Since he's been wearing his old mission suit for 5 years now, we got Trav a purty new suit for Christmas. Petey also got this cute sweater combo from Grandma and Ambie. Aren't my boys handsome?!

Where has the past year gone! Our wee little man turned one last Sunday and we celebrated with some family and friends. Here's Petey digging into his birthday cake. I made a delish coconut creme cake that I have been dreaming about ever since. At his year checkup, Peter is 17 lbs. 14 oz and 28.5" long. So he's a little puny still and doesn't quite qualify for the forward facing carseats but we're working on it.

Trav made Petey this hilarious book called "Now I know my alpha, beta, gamma's" -- his very own first engineering textbook. It's hilarious. Poor Petey doesn't stand a chance of avoiding geekdom.

Petey the maestro. He loves anything musical and got a ton of fun toys to try out his jammin' skills. Happy Birthday buddy!!

How can we thank you for helping us through many sleepless nights, new teeth, 3-hour church blocks during nap time, and long car rides??

Congrats to Rob, Tracie (my sister) & Carter (holding the little lass above). After many trials they have finally been blessed with the cutest little angel and we couldn't be happier to have her part of our family!!

And we're back!

After a nasty bout of bronchiolitis (Peter), ear infections (me & Peter), a major cold (me) and boxes of sudafed I think we are all fixed up. Trav scored major brownie points for taking such good care of Petey while I simply lay on the bed in the fetal position for a few days.

License and Registration?

This little car has been Petey's favorite Christmas gift. It plays music, he can walk behind it and it even came with a mini cell phone he loves to chew on. Boys will be boys.

Once again his hair has gotten too long, so we gave Petey his second hair cut. Only this time we actually cut more than just the front. He looks a lot like my brother Jono now.

We've got the sickies...

No, we're not dead. We just got a bad case of the sickies..

Peter got bronchitis and and ear infection for Christmas from a cousin and generously offered to pass it on to me. Here's Petey using his water-pipe, I mean nebulizer. The poor kid is pretty pathetic and we're hoping he starts feeling better soon.

Benji's new word for anything he doesn't know the name for is "thing-a-ding" As in, "Where's my thing-a-ding, Momma?"

We picked some asparagus from the garden and Peter said: "Let's cook it and have it for dessert!" Asparagus. For DESSERT.

Benji: Dad, sometimes when you close your eyes, do you see bats?

Travis: Um, no. [pause] When you close your eyes and see bats are they good bats or bad bats?

Benji: [looking at Daddy like he is crazy pants] When I close my eyes I do not see bats!
