Halloween

We had a very festive Halloween. The kids got all dressed up for our church Trunk or Treat.
Peter was a minecraft skeleton complete with homemade bow, Benji was a cowboy, and Nora was the cutest ballerina ever.

We carved pumpkins together one night and the boys actually touched the seeds this year! That's a huge step for those guys.

OOOoooo! Scary faces!

I went to the kids' Halloween parade at school and they both looked adorable.

And then for the actual big night, Nora decided she needed to be a kitty ballerina. Which will explain all the claws and growly faces in the following pictures.
Travis was a giant koala and I went as Frenchie (from Grease!)

Happy Halloween!

Let's Make a Deal!

Living in LA, one of my dreams has been to be in the studio audience for a game show taping. I'd been watching the dates for months when a email for tickets on a Saturday finally showed up! I honestly didn't really care what the show was, but we were GOING!
The Let's Make a Deal taping was for a Luau special and we roped some friends into going with us for the day.

The whole day was crazy (lots of hurry up and waits in-between bouts of manic cheering) but we had a fun time taking it all in together. None of us got picked to go onstage, but we had a blast -- even if we were all hoarse the next day :)

Peter is at a hilarious age. I was trying to take pictures of all the primary classes for teacher gifts and these were the best I could manage for his class.
Peter, Inu King, Lilly Stockdale, Tahlia Fletcher, and Turner Gray

I swear, this one could be an album cover for a punk rock band.

These days, you will only ever see Peter like this:
drafting some sort of complicated plan

riding around in the go-cart

or reading.

A common sight when we go out to dinner is Peter and Travis working out math theorems on restaurant napkins. I swear, fast-forward this picture about 10 years and this'll be college-aged Peter.

His scout troop built cub mobiles and had races in the parking lot for pack meeting. Peter is the one driving the car on the right. It was pretty hilarious with the wheels falling off of one car and a kid completely eating it on the other (nothing injured, other than pride). A very fun evening.

More dance. Because...it's adorable.

I absolutely LOVE watching dance class.

Nora loves getting ready, she loves the clothes, the shoes (tappy shoes!), she loves her teachers and the music. She also really loves the floor-length mirrors. Sometimes she gets a bit distracted with watching herself instead of listening to her teachers...

We love this studio and were so sad to have to leave it!
