Happy Easter

For Easter this past weekend, we decided to take Peter to a 'Breakfast with the Bunny' at Mulligans on Saturday (mainly cause Trav has been begging to go play putt-putt for months now). But heavens! It was a mad house there. Trav and Peter rode the go-carts and did the egg hunt while I waited in line for over an hour for breakfast. I have no idea why I did that while 9 months pregnant (less than 2 weeks now!). My hips hated me the rest of the day. But afterwards we played a speedy game of putt-putt in which Peter decided he likes throwing the ball more than hitting it.

Trav and Peter did enjoy playing some arcade games too..

As for Easter itself, we had a pretty chill day. Trav didn't realize his meetings before church had been cancelled so when he got back before church we did a mini egg hunt for Peter in the back yard. Which was pretty hilarious since with only one kid the motivation to get out there and find the eggs isn't quite as high.
Notice the Cars backpack. This was basically the extent of Pete's Easter basket but he loves it. Also, all my shots of the egg hunt were of Peter from behind. He was not wanting to look at the camera.

The excited little man with all his loot. Still in pjs with bedhead. I love it.

Peter and I in our Easter finery -- and showing off our baby bellies. Of course we didn't take a family picture cause we're slackers like that, but know that Travis looked particularly handsome too.

California Science Center

Last week, my brother Jono and his family came down from Utah to spend their spring break at Disneyland. So on Friday, Travis, Peter and I went down to meet them in LA to go to the California Science Center. Which was totally free and a really a great museum. The kids had a fantastic time running around checking out all the exhibits while I spent most of the time searching for any available seating.

Lesson learned: walking does not induce labor for me, my friends. It simply threatens to make my hips pop out of joint. Sliiightly painful.

We did try to get a picture of all four kids together, but quickly discovered it was just not gonna happen. This shot is probably the best of the bunch. Personally, I think it's hilarious.

Although we did snap this one of Peter hanging out by the fountains which is pretty dang cute.

Seven Year Itch

This past weekend, Travis and I celebrated our SEVENTH anniversary.

Crazy.

One of Trav's co-workers has a cabin up in Mammoth, CA (a great ski resort town like Park City, UT) and graciously offered to let us use it for the weekend. It couldn't have come at a better time. We've never been away from Peter together overnight and since we have another wild little man coming in about a month (5 weeks and counting folks), we decided to leave Pete with our good friends Josh and Becca (thank you, thank you!) and head out for a romantic weekend sans kids.

Even though we're currently enjoying sunny shorts and t-shirt weather at home, Mammoth still had mountains of snow - it was so incredibly gorgeous.
Travis soon learned however that vacationing with a highly pregnant woman is somewhat different.
Mainly we spent the entire weekend ether eating...
or sleeping.

But we did take time to see the sights. On Saturday we took the gondola up to the top of the ski resort and checked out the slopes. No skiing for us but still it was a beautiful day.

For our last night and a special anniversary treat, we made reservations at a fancy-pants restaurant at Tamarack Lodge complete with a talented French chef. The restaurant only seated about 15 people so it was very cozy and the food... oh my, the food was fantastic. We seriously ate for over two hours and enjoyed every single bite.

We had such a wonderful time, but by Sunday morning I was ready to come back to our sweet little man (who did awesome at our friends house by the way).

I sure do love this man.
