AV Fair

Once again, we made it back to the Antelope Valley Fair. The kids had been so excited to go and we had promised them all along we'd go the last weekend so we could see the Monster Truck show - perfect plan - until we all got sick that week and wound up feeling terrible the day of.

Since the Fair would only be around one more day, we decided to go anyway, and while we still had fun, it was definitely not as memorable as it usually is. Oh well, at least we went!
First stop - to see the show animals!

Benji really wanted to take one of these bunnies home.
And Nora kept wandering up and down the aisles totally intrigued by all the different chickens and bunnies.

Baby photo bomb!

Nora was so sweet in the petting zoo - she got so excited, especially since so many of the animals were little and just at her level. Her favorites were this little goat and some pigmy pigs. I do feel bad for all those poor animals tho - they were probably totally traumatized afterwards with all those kids running around.
Armed with milkshakes and cotton candy, it was finally time for the Monster Truck show!!
Turns out trying to get a family-of-5 selfie isn't as easy as you think.
We didn't know how Nora would do since we had forgotten to bring headphones for her, but that girl was in heaven! I don't think she turned away from the trucks once.
Although at one point, she did start putting her fingers in her ears. I don't blame her, it was pretty loud.
We all really enjoyed ourselves - the truck drivers put on a great show (despite a 30 min intermission!) and we even got to see a truck catch on fire! Although maybe that's not something to cheer about...
As soon as the show was over, Nora conked out in the stroller while we let the boys go on a few rides.

Peter and Benji are in the last two lanes in this shot.

By the end of the night, we were all thoroughly exhausted and ready to head home. I think Nora even took a 4 hour nap the next day! But I'm glad we ended up going and keeping our Fair tradition alive. Here's hoping everyone's well next year!
