Roar!! Benji turns 3!!

Our little man turned the big three this past Wednesday. I can't believe how much he's grown - every milestone we hit with this kid still seems like a miracle. So many people have commented to me lately that he seems so grown up all of the sudden -- like he's no longer a little toddler and I have to agree. He's everywhere all the time and so smart.
We met Benji's friend Ty at the mall for his birthday
and then opened presents together as a family that night.
All three boys were super excited for this marble track from my brother Jono and his family.
Then on Saturday, we had a big party for all Benji's friends -- and Travis', since his birthday is on Sunday.
This is the invite I sent out. I'm pretty much in love with it.
Since we were going with the dinosaur theme, Travis cut out a million of these dinosaur footprints and we put them up outside
and all over the house.
And here's the cake I made for Benji. It was really easy and turned out just how I wanted.
(I used pirolines for the fence)

Since we had lots of little kids coming, we buried some dinosaur fossils in the sandbox and made these awesome dinosaur eggs to crack open.
We laid out all sorts of tools and paint brushes to help the kiddos dig up their dinosaurs and they all thought it was great fun.

Benji and Emma cracking their 'eggs.'

One of Travis' co-workers, Charles, brought a dinosaur pinata for the kids to bust open (awesome present, by the way!) and everyone had a great time trying to knock it open -- everyone except for the birthday boy that is. Benji refused to take a turn with the bat. The best part of the pinata fun however was once it got burst open, all the candy went flying across the yard due to our 30+ mph winds that day. Candy and kids flying everywhere. It was pretty hilarious!
We then enjoyed cake and opened some presents.

It was such a fun party (despite the wind)! I love this little man and can't wait to see what this next year will bring.
