August is here -- which means to those living in So Cal -- BACK TO SCHOOL!!
As you can see from the picture below, these two have had so much fun together this summer. It hasn't been all roses of course, but they've definitely enjoyed themselves.
I think they gave themselves black eyes so they could see in the bright sun like cheetahs (as taught by the Wild Kratts of course).
Peter started 2nd grade in Mrs. Miller's class the first week of August. He was so excited to find out that his best friend Noah (they have been together since kindergarten) and several kids from church would all be in his class. He was actually supposed to be in a different class, but his first grade teacher Mrs. Hughes, emailed me about a week before school started and said that after some shuffling, she had made sure Peter got Mrs. Miller (who I had originally requested but didn't get). How nice of her to go out of her way to watch out for Peter!
Nora and Benji both have missed Peter and this is how they wait every day at pickup -- ready to catch the first glimpse of brother crossing the fields.
So knowing that we'd only have a couple of weeks before Benji went off to preschool too, I tried to make the last week special for the littles.
And then today, Benji went to his first day of preschool at Birds Nest -- the same preschool that Peter went to (and loved). He came back home full of stories and excitement, he obviously had a great time. It helps that his best friend Ty and a few other kids from church are also there. I'm so proud of our happy little man. When I asked him how he had gotten so grown up today, he told me "Oh, it's cause I practice." Love this kid.
And now, every morning it's just me and this cute little lady.
She may be into everything ALL THE TIME but she's a cutie and I'm excited for our mornings together!
